“The press has a right to publish photographs and information about the private life of celebrities”

Nowadays, we know almost everything about our favourite celebrities. In the last decades, the press has found out more ways to discover celebrities’ secrets or confidences and yellow press journalists have taken advantage of new technologies and sources of information. Some celebrities complain about their lack of privacy, but I think they should not do it.

First of all, celebrities are public figures. Therefore, they need publicity to stay in the public eye. What is more, when a people achieve fame and success they must know that, as modern celebrities, losing their privacy is part of the price they have to pay for being what they are.

Secondly, the public has the right to know any kind of news. As a result, celebrities must know that the more famous they are, the more criticised they will be. Besides, they must accept their role in this game and they have to try to give an attractive image to the public.

In conclusion, I am convinced that the press can publish any kind of information about the private life of public figures. As far as I am concerned, lots of celebrities base their life in their image and they have to accept its consequences.
