THE PRESS HAS A RIGHT TO PUBLISH PHOTOGRAPHS AND INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRIVATE LIFE OF CELEBRITIES

Getting in the world of fame implies that many aspects and conditions may change someone’s private life. The press is the first to claim the right to publish any photograph and information about the celebrities’ own life, causing that the audience becomes foolish and starts gossiping about it. Nevertheless, I personally don’t agree with the existing limitless freedom that everybody takes in front of a celebrity.

First of all, we should never forget that all human beings have a right to privacy. For that reason, celebrities have the same opportunities as other people to enjoy their private lives quietly without constant invasions from the press. However, if some day a celebrity decides to make pieces of his confidential life public, the information would be absolutely impressive and shocking for the audience.

What is more, the mental health of a celebrity can be affected by the constant attention from the press. Lots of famous people don’t do what they want with their own lives due to the pursuits that some paparazzi carry through in order to surprise them in interesting or compromising situations. Besides, famous people get obsessed with the way they act, the way they dress up or their eating habits, in order to always be at their best condition just in case paparazzi take pictures from hidden places, so they won't be able to criticize the way they are.

In conclusion, it seems to me that everybody would like to have a little privacy even if they become famous. As I see it, the press should respect the private life of celebrities because, despite the fame and the wealth, they also are, above all, human beings.
