2.- What problems do teenage carers have? How should the government help them?

It is well known that teenagehood can often be a hard time in someone’s life; you develop your own personality as you mature and your emotional balance is often disrupted. Now imagine having to take care of an ill relative on a daily basis with little or no help… that’s exactly how teenage carers feel. Personally, I support the idea of the government helping these teenagers.
Firstly, having to take care after someone is sometimes a very difficult task that requires a lot of time and skill, which are not common in teenagers. Consequently professionals should do part of this task.
Secondly, it is very difficult to combine schoolwork with full-time caring. This results in poor marks at school and not giving all the attention or cares that the ill person really needs.
To sum up, as far as I am concerned there are not many activities in which the government investments are more justified than in helping exhausted teenagers who take care of ill relatives. I just hope that teenage carers will improve their situation with the help of qualified professionals.
