Few years ago I had an experience that I'll never forget while my friends and I were staying in ski resort Chimbulak. We'd decided to go snowboarding together long time ago, so we were in anticipation of exhilarating holiday. Everything was prepared and we've sit on a chairlift. Nothing portend a bad, except that I've noticed that there wasn't any people. The only person, whom I have seen was wide awake stuff.

When i'd sad it to my friends, they just laughted at me and sad that I'm hypochondriac. Suddenly a chairlift ha stopped and I was petrified. My friend Dias sad that It's just for a few minutes..and then we continue our trip, but one hour later everyone considered that it was a close shave. We had no idea what we might to do. Unfortunately There was really cold and we hadn't any communication. We were utterly exhausted. For a second, I decided, that it was the end.

All of sudden I heard the sound, which had broken the silence. Amazingly, it was sound of rescue helicopter. It took us to home safe and sound. Finally I've found out, that our parents called to emergency. Afterwards I soppose that you always need to listen to your premonitions.

A couple of years ago I had an experience that is not easy to forget. I was planning an excursion to the mountain doing trial. When we had arrived at the gathering and we took out everything out all the food. And we notice a strange presence.
We immediately saw a big black bull. Patrick was the first to take the motorcycle and went far away and I was caught by the bull under a tree. I turned around the tree and I started running up to the motorcycle. I went very fast by the mountain.
After a long road across the mountain, we stopped the motorcycles to saw if we had left something behind. I was very afraid but luckily I was saved. Nowadays when I remember the experience I’ve a laugh with Patrick.

A SURPRISING EXPERIENCE

Some weeks ago I was in the station waiting for the train. As any Sunday I got in and left my baggage, even though that day I was feeling quite restless remembering the Chinese guys who had stared me before.

After a while, I stood up and went to have a look to my suitcase. As I expected, I didn`t saw it in its place, so I turned around apprehensively. Fortunately I noticed one of the Chinese guys was carrying it, and immediately I started shouting him angrily. After repeating several times that the bag bellowed to him he took out a jackknife, so I shut up and turned around utterly scared to death.

While I was coming back to my seat I looked them going far away with all my things. By the time, I felt too scared to do anything but remembering the situation. All of a sudden, I realized I had left my baggage on the other side of the wagon…the guy was telling the truth!

A frightening experience

Every single Halloween night I remember that day. Some friends have decided to walk through the forest in the evening, just for the thrill of it.

As soon as we arrived to a little hut, one of us shouted, terrified: 'Stop here! Don't go any closely!' Then Johan exclaimed, laughing: 'Oh it's true! A monster will appear and will eat us all!' while he was approaching to the filthy cabin. Suddenly, we heard a hair-raising scream coming from there, and we started looking for him. Finally we found him, lying in the floor. He was utterly shocked and he couldn't move.

Fortunately, everything seemed to be fine and we pick him and turned back. He didn't want to talk about what had happened, his facial expression was indescribable. With this experience, we definitely lost our friend. Johan was never the same again.

THE FREEZING SATURDAY
Last winter, the 6th of February of 2010, I went to do mountain skiing in Andorra with my friends called Stephen and Olivia. We were so excited that when we arrived at the ski resort, which was around midday, we immediately started to climb up the mountain. When we were getting nearer the lake of Pessons, we decided to stop for a while in order to stretch our legs and eat something as we had been starving for a long time. Later on, we were impatient to arrive at the nearest pick and that is what we did.
Unfortunately, while we were hiking and leaving our strength in the huge hill a violent foggy covered us in the middle of the valley. Our emotions suddenly turned upside down and we began to feel petrified and terrified surrounded by this pitch black landscape: ugly, dark, gigantic shadows where threatening us while the frozen air was provoking our shivering. The situation was very strange and every second we were feeling more insecure. At first, we thought we were completely lost but then we called the emergency mountain service with the mobile that Stephen had taken just in case.
A few hours later, soaking wet and in a helicopter, we were finally returning home. From this day on, I always take a look through my window and see what the weather is like so that I know if it is a good day to go skiing or not. From that day I have learned the lesson of always being careful with the weather, it is not always reliable!

A SOAKING ENCOUNTER

Last winter, during an extremely rainy day, as I was walking down a main road with three friends we faced the soaking power of an urban wave. Huge puddles of rainwater covered the sides of the road and a high brick wall delimited the extremely narrow walkway, in which we were walking. We weren’t paying much attention to the traffic until we all realized that it was far too late.

A gigantic lorry was speeding down the road; we all knew what was about to happen. Time froze as the first wheel of the lorry reached the puddle in front of us; some of us jumped high in the air, completely useless. An enormous wave caught us all up between the wall and the splashing water that spun furiously from the lorry. The result?

We were dripping wet, completely showered and in complete shock. From this time onwards every time we walk along that road we usually cross the road and keep on walking on the other walkway. However, even though we all ended up with a cold that week, we still remember with laughter our desperation faces about to be lashed by the freezing urban wave.

Some years ago I had an experience that I’ll never forget while I was staying with my little cousin. We were alone at home because my grandmother had gone to buy a snack for us and we stayed were staying at home.
We were watching TV when I heard a noise. First I didn’t say anything for my cousin not to be scared but I heard that terrifying noise again. My cousin asked me if I had heard that noise with her eyes wide nshut open for fear and I told him I had also heard it. As soon as we could we went to see what those noises were. Eventually we went upstairs to see if we could find what it was. The stairs were completely pitching black.
When we arrived upstairs we stayed very surprised because we saw that those noises were made for my sister who had been locked in the bedroom and she couldn’t go out.1 sentence paragraph!

Dream or reality?

Seven months ago something terrifying happened to me and I’m sure I’ll remember that night for the rest of my life. I was spending some days with my family in my grandparents’ hometown. One night I suddenly woke up and heard a really loud noise coming from the lounge.
I looked around me. My brother and my cousin were sleeping in the same bedroom as me, and they didn’t look like they had heard anything. I stood up and walked slowly towards the door of the room the room door. It was pitch black and I couldn’t see anything. By the time I decided to go back to bed a beam of blinding light came from downstairs. I run ran as fast as I could towards the living room to find out what was going on. Then, I saw her: an old woman who was wearing such an elegant, blue dress. She stared at me for some seconds. I looked at her face and I started to feel very cold. After a moment and I don’t know why, I fell to the ground and hit my head with a table.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> I woke up in the morning. I had been laying on the floor for many hours and I had a terrible headache. After a while, I tried to remember that woman imagining her face and her eyes. I was walking between the walls of the corridor when I saw a very familiar painting. I read its title and I realised that it was a portrait of my great grandmother. I looked at it attentively and … there she was again! That was the woman I had seen the night before! Nowadays I still wonder what really happened that night…

A NARRATIVE ESSAY

Not a lot I remembered that exhilarating experience: Two years ago, me and a group of friends and I decided to make take a trip over a weekend. Montseny was fascinating.
We started the trip in the morning because it was is a gigantic mountain and very difficult to climb,. The landscape was breathtaking and all of us were fascinated.
We began to climb those hard rocks, so for a long time, when we reached the top we were starving and exhausted but we decided to follow the path until the sky turned pitch black.
Whereas we were talking about the experience when all of a sudden it started raining, between the dark and rain Soon afterwards I was dripping wet and, between the dark and the rain, scared to death because I knew that I had separated from the group.
It was freezing but luckily I found a huge cave that was filthy, nevertheless I started to hear some terrifying shouts.I don't see the connection between the sentence and the connector "nevertheless"
I was frightened, so I sat in a corner in the darkness wide awake and wropped did you mean "wrapped"?with my brand new raincoat.
However, the sun returned to shine and I left the cave,. After going down alone, I joined in with my friends who were utterly worried. Remember: utterly is used with EXTREME ADJECTIVES. Here it's better to use "very", "extremely",...
Despite this experience, it taught me a lot. It had been a survival weekend
To sum up, I would repeat it again though previously I should advance remember back the experience.I don't understand this.

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE

A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE

One month ago, my friend Maria and I went on an excursion to the Atalayas, the mountains of Peñíscola, with her elder brother to the Atalayas. Maria had recently got the driving licence, so she decided to drive herself and bring us to the place.
We spent an amazing day there without trouble. In the afternoon, while Maria´s brother was sleeping deeply fast asleep on the grass, she and I decided to take again the car again to admire for a while the beauty of the views for a while. After a while, Maria became very nervous and worried because she realized she couldn’t stop the car. Unluckily, the car brakes had broken, and every minute she was driving faster. We began shouting desperately without thinking twice. In addition, we managed to see a cliff in the distance and immediately became really hysterical. The car was really out of control.
Luckily, some minutes later, Maria’s brother appeared and ordered us to jump out of the car. We did it and afterwards, saw how the car fell down to the sea. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and eventually, the car was taken out from of the water by a derrick. My friend and I were shocked during a week as we have never felt so much fear in our lives as we did. I really hope nobody has suffers ever this experience ever.

Narrative essay: "A frightening experience"

A frightening experience
Every summer my family and I used to go to our country cottage. I will always remember the day when we decided to take a stroll. I had been was walking with my little brother in the evening forest and everything seemed to be perfect and quiet until the moment when he suddenly disappeared of my view.
I didn’t understand know what to do. It was the first time this had happened to me. I was absolutely petrified. I needed to calm down and look for my brother. Unfortunately, I had no mobile phone. At first I thought about asking someone, but I didn’t see anybody. It was getting dark. After searching for my brother in that gigantic forest, I stood for a while to recover a breath, and, completely desperate and exhausted, I started to shout his name, but nobody answered. All of a sudden, I heard someone’s fast steps coming nearer closer to me…
I couldn't believe my eyes what I was contemplating:  that “someone” was my brother! He was finally found and absolutely safe and sound. We decided to come back home immediately. I’ll never forget that terrible experience and those emotions of happiness that I felt when I saw my little brother again.

Monday 25th Reading Comprehension

SMART HOMES

Imagine a home that thinks about your needs and adapts everything in your house to make you as comfortable as possible. These intelligent or ‘smart’ homes used to exist only in the world of science fiction. Now, although their number is relatively small, smart homes are a reality.
Up to now, most homes have had little more than the main electrical circuits, a few phone lines, and a few TV cables. However, things are changing. Complex communication
networks can now control everything from security to irrigation systems.
Imagine the possibilities. You get home in your car. As you approach the driveway in your vehicle, you press a button on your remote control. This tells the house that you have arrived home. The control system of your house activates a pre-programmed set of functions. First, it turns on the lights in your driveway, garage, hall and kitchen. Then, it deactivates the
security system, opens the garage door and unlocks the interior garage entry door. When you finally enter the house, there is no need to worry about heating or air conditioning: the control system has already adjusted the rooms to a pre-set temperature. It has also turned on the audio-system and your favourite CD is playing. From the bathroom, there is the sound of
running water: your intelligent home is preparing a nice hot bath for you.
It is 7.30 the next morning. You wake up to the sound of your favourite CD playing in the background. The lights in your bedroom switch on. The burglar alarm system is de-activated. In the kitchen the coffee machine turns on to make you a drink. The curtains and blinds open and let in the morning sunshine. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, the towel-heater warms the towels. During all this activity, you lie in bed thinking about the day ahead.
These are just some of the ways in which smart home technology can change people’s lives by automating everyday, simple tasks. People in favour of the technology argue that it will give us more free time, reduce stress levels, and generally improve our quality of life. On the other hand, some people say that it will make us all lazy and fat!
