THE FREEZING SATURDAY
Last winter, the 6th of February of 2010, I went to do mountain skiing in Andorra with my friends called Stephen and Olivia. We were so excited that when we arrived at the ski resort, which was around midday, we immediately started to climb up the mountain. When we were getting nearer the lake of Pessons, we decided to stop for a while in order to stretch our legs and eat something as we had been starving for a long time. Later on, we were impatient to arrive at the nearest pick and that is what we did.
Unfortunately, while we were hiking and leaving our strength in the huge hill a violent foggy covered us in the middle of the valley. Our emotions suddenly turned upside down and we began to feel petrified and terrified surrounded by this pitch black landscape: ugly, dark, gigantic shadows where threatening us while the frozen air was provoking our shivering. The situation was very strange and every second we were feeling more insecure. At first, we thought we were completely lost but then we called the emergency mountain service with the mobile that Stephen had taken just in case.
A few hours later, soaking wet and in a helicopter, we were finally returning home. From this day on, I always take a look through my window and see what the weather is like so that I know if it is a good day to go skiing or not. From that day I have learned the lesson of always being careful with the weather, it is not always reliable!
