Lance Amstrong, an admirable person

Lance Amstrong is a professional American ex-cyclist who was born on 8th September 1871, in Texas. When he was just two, her father left home, so he grew up with his mother and her boyfriend. Although he started in the world of sport practicing swimming, he got involved in cycling at the age of 13.

In 1992 he was already a professional cyclist. Belonging to Motorola team, he won several races and he even became one of the youngest cyclists in winning the World Championship.Unfortunately, in 1996, a cancer was detected to him, and his chance of survival was lower than 50%. However, he was treated with quimiotherapy for a hard year and survived. After thinking about retiring of cycling, he joined US postal team in 1998 and in the following five years, he focused his attention on winning the Tour of France.

Nowadays, Lance is recognized for having managed to win this competition seven times before his retirement in 2005. He lives in Texas and in Girona with his family. His continued collaboration to fight against cancer with the raising of his own charity makes him to be considered one of most admirable cyclist of the whole history.
