In his early twenties, Armstrong immediately became a professional cyclist. The following years brought him victory after victory. Everything was going well until all of sudden in 1996 the young cyclist was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Doctors predicted lees than 40% chance on survival. However, Armstrong was not ready to give up. He did not know how to lose and with his will he set up a Lance Armstrong Foundation which helps people who suffer cancer. Soon afterwards, he joined US postal team. It was a moment when Armstrong demonstrated his talent, winning the Tour de France each year from 1999 to 2005 seven times.
After retiring from cycling in 2005, he continued promoting his Lance Armstrong Foundation and it has raised $50 million. Nowadays this sports legend lives in Texas and Gerona. What I admire most about him is his optimism in difficult situations and his strong spirit.
