LANCE ARMSTRONG, THE CYCLIST WITH VITAL SPIRIT
Lance Armstrong was born in Texas on 8th September 1971, and he was brought up by his mother because his father left them when he was a child. Back to his childhood, he was already actively athletic, which is what helped him to reach the peak in of his sportive life.
In his early twenties, he became a very good professional cyclist. but, Unfortunately, four years later he was diagnosed with cancer. Although this disease doctors had given him only a 40% chance to survive, he was convinced he would reach his goal, and thus he set up the Lance Armstrong Foundation in order to help people that were also suffering cancer. Soon afterwards, he recovered part of his health and joined the US postal team, which gave him the opportunity to show his abilities winning the Tour de France for five seven consecutive years.
After such an excellent row of victorious years of victory, he retired from cycling in 2005, and until today his foundation has raised over $50 million. At the present time, he lives in both both in Texas and Girona, Catalonia. What I admire the most about him is the fact that he never gave up his passion in life despite the many difficulties that crossed his road, and this helped him to become a really strong person both physically and mentally.
